The story

Why this book exists

There comes a point in a designer’s life when flowers stop being decoration and become a language — when every petal, line and colour is no longer a matter of taste, but an intentional decision.

Twenty-five years of shaping atmosphere taught Tomas that beauty is a living structure, with rhythm, hierarchy and intelligence behind it. This book reveals that structure — not as formulas to copy, but as a way of thinking.

It is not a manual. It is a mirror.

Foreword

Colin Cowie

CEO, Colin Cowie Lifestyle · New York
“This book shows plenty of flowers, of course, yet it’s not really a book about flowers. It is a book about the intelligence that sits behind beauty.”

“The book is extraordinary, and it stands apart from everything else in floral design. As does Tomas himself.”

The author

Tomas
De Bruyne

Where others see petals and stems, he sees language.

A contemporary Flemish master who works in space rather than on canvas. His brush is flowers, architecture, light and emotion; his art is building worlds where memory, mood and meaning meet. Recognised internationally as The Floral Poet.

Twenty-five years of designing atmosphere for celebrations, brands and cultural stages across four continents — and a conviction that beauty is never decoration, but structure made visible.

In my own words

There comes a moment in every artist’s journey when creation transcends its physical form. The boundaries between art and life blur, and the thing you have been making turns out to have been making you. This book emerges from that moment.

My life has been a constant dialogue with beauty — which is to say I have devoted myself to the most honest of all the arts: one that dies magnificently, and knows it. Along the way I came to understand that beauty is not an arrangement of shapes, colours or patterns. It is not a quality but a presence. A force — alive, dynamic, transformative.

What you will find in these pages is my journey into the alchemy behind it. I invite you not to observe creation, but to become complicit in it. Not a spectator. A co-creator.

The launch

London,
12 April 2026

The Chancery Rosewood · by invitation

In collaboration with RSVP / La Fête, R Creative Studio and Nadia Duran, the Signature Edition was unveiled to an audience of planners, creators and visionaries — immersed inside Tomas’s own floral scenography — atmospheres, as Sumant Jayakrishnan put it, not only seen but deeply felt.

“Is Tomas the most talented floral designer in the world? Well — he’s definitely in the top one.”
James Lord — Founder & CEO, RSVP

More than a book launch: a night where philosophy became experience, structure met imagination, and beauty revealed its meaning.

A crescendo. A revelation.
